Environmental Fair to Celebrate Green Day

The Ministry of Environment and its partners organize a series of “Green Day” celebration every year to further encourage people participate in environmental activities.  This year, there is no exception. With the celebration of June 4 “Green Day”, the Ministry of Environment organized environmental fair for three which held from 3 to 5 June.

"Environmental Fair" is the activities of the government to encourage public participation in environmental activities including stopping forest degradation, industrial pollution, air pollution and other environmental problems. World Environment Day - saving the planetEveryone has responsibility.”

The Environmental Fair organized in front of Wat Botom with around 70 booth of companies and organization from Phnom Penh and many provinces in Cambodia to participate. The main products in environmental fair are clean coal, solar water heaters, solar navigation lights, solar power generation equipment and other energy saving products. In addition, there also have agriculture product, handicrafts product, industrial products and a lot of well-known fruit.

Mom Sary, student at University of Cambodia and also the Ministry of Environment’s personnel reveals that this environmental fair can enhance people’s awareness to the climate change then alert to stop polluted actions to the environment but instead participated to mitigate the impact.

‘Here at the fair, many people from the remote areas nationwide expose their man-made products to show their environmentally friendly business so as to discourage buyers purchasing products which cause serious destruction to environment, “says Sary.

As a green person herself, she reveals her green involvement by feel ready to help students who wish to explore environmental documents at the ministry.
