Cambodia Beats Vietnam 5-1 in Friendly Football Match

The Football Team Cambodia under 23 (U23) warm up second time before open the door to welcome Lao in round one of  2014 World Cup Asian Qualify tournament with Vietnam on June 23 at National Stadium in Phnom Penh. With the result, Cambodia beats Kien Giang Football club, Vietnam football team 5-1 in the friendly football match for its final warm up.

The friendly football match is not only for warm up, but it is also strengthening technique and capacity of Cambodia and Vietnam football team in term of preparation for FIFA’s World Cup 2014 qualifying matches and international tournaments especially 26th SEA Games.

With the match between Cambodia football team and Kien Giang FC, Vietnam football team, that currently placed the third in the Vietnamese First Division, Cambodia team was not give the chance for Vietnam to get the score. Just after minutes of the match, Cambodian player 25 Tum Saray strike on the font and earn two balls from Vietnam side at 16 minutes and 24 minutes. After 12 minutes, Vietnamese player 23 Nguyen Hai Anh take the ball on his leg and shoot to the goal then earn a first score for his team. Not so long, Cambodia player Sun Sopanha come with the power go across Kien Giang players and earn a goal at 40 minute. The first half finished with result of 3-1, Cambodia team led the score.

 At the second half is so exciting while Vietnam team added more attack on Cambodia team, but they could not get what they wishes by good performance of Cambodia goalkeeper, defender and solidarity of team. At 74 minutes, Cambodia player 20 Phourng Soksana pass the ball across Vietnamese player 3 and shoot the ball into the Vietnam’s team as the first goal of second half. Last 10 minutes, Vietnamese team has high chance for gain score, but they cannot success their shooting. Finally, at the last 8 minute Sam El Nasa and Phourng Soksana cooperate together to pass the ball till in front of the Vietnams goal then striker number 19 Nasa stick the ball to earn the last score. Even though Kien Giang’s team struggle to earn more score, but they cannot earn even one score in the second half of the match.

Sam El Nasa express his happiness after the match that it is exciting that his team can have a great result like today. It showed the good progress of Cambodia football team. “Follow the disciple is the key to success in the team,” Eang Saknida, Cambodia’s assistant coach said. Both of them said that Cambodia football try to prepare and do well at the day meet Lao on June 29 in Phnom Penh and on July 3 in Vientiane.

In the first warm-up, Cambodia football team beat Malaysia 1-0, with Cambodian striker Kouch Sokumpheak scoring the solitary winner for the whole match.
