UC Signs MOU With DONGSEO

The University of Cambodia (UC) aims to extend the further academic corporation with international education. UC on December 16th signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Dongseo University from the Republic of Korea.
Two universities signed MOU on some programs and activities such as exchange of researching the scientists and faculty members, exchange of students and credits, exchange of academic materials and other information, joint researching activities, participation in seminars and academic meetings and special short term training programs.

H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and President of The University of Cambodia (UC), said that the Republic of Korea and Cambodia have been very close in term of cooperative and government relationship, and they have worked to build bilateral relation between two countries.

“Today, we celebrate the bridge of two universities separated by geography, but linked together by intellectual commonality,” he said. “Our goal is to develop the next generation of scholars will carry the weight of world by their shoulders, into economic development and the future property.”

“There are lots of Korean tourists and investors come to Cambodia, so I think it is good that we are working to promote people between the two countries for the academic institution to work together,” he added. “Therefore, the MOU today will go a long way in terms of promoting universities cooperation, so I am very place to welcome the Dongseo University to sign MOU.”

Prof. Jekuk Chang, Executive Vice President of the Dongseo University, said that Dongseo University is a major private university in the Port city of Bussan in the Republic of Korea, which was founded in 1992.

“We are very happy to sign MOU with The University of Cambodia and spend time to work together between the two universities and we are happy to receive students from The University of Cambodia,” he said during the signing ceremony in Phnom Penh.

The University of Cambodia is working toward building affiliation with some world renowned universities and other institution. In the past, UC has signed MOU with Kalinga Institute of Industrial in India, PAYAP University in Chiang Mai Thailand, Ohio University in United States of America, Osaka International University in Japan, Kyung Hee University, in the Republic of Korea, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhar University in Kingdom of Thailand and Kalinga Institude of Industrial Technology  (KIIT) University. Recently The University of Cambodia signed MOU with Inha University in South Korea.
