Japan Assist Cambodia Hospital to Install Medical Waste Incinerator

The Government of Japan provided a total grant aid of US$55,325 to Angkor Hospital for Children for the Project for Installing Medical Waste Incinerator at Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap Province. The grant aid doing under Japan’s economic cooperation framework which is the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (“KUSANONE” Grant).

The Grant Contract signed on December 9 between H.E. KUROKI Masafumi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Dr. William Housworth, Executive Director of Angkor Hospital for Children, at the Embassy of Japan.

H.E. KUROKI Masafumi said that the grant aid is use for Installing Medical Waste Incinerator to control waste effectively in hospital. Japan recognized that the important of health sector so that Japan will continue to support health sector in Cambodia especially on women and children.

“The Medical Waste Incinerator will ensure the environment at Angkor Hospital for Children with high effectively in order to control all of the wastes in hospital,” he stressed.

This project will help environment in hospital better and better every day and around 700 patients, 300 hospital staffs and other guests will be safety from all diseases in hospital.

  1. People would certainly want to know if the clothes they are wearing contain any material from used medical blankets and hospital gowns. Medical waste is a special category of waste and should be disposed of appropriately. Biohazard Waste Disposal Virginia Beach Va

Although, no other methods of effective pathogen reduction have ever prescribed for health care facilities worldwide other than incineration, non-incineration technologies are being encouraged in recent years by many environmental pressure groups.
