Cambodia and Malaysia under-23 (U23) football team met each other in a friendly match on June 7 at the national Olympic Stadium in Cambodia.
The friendly match is the testing of both teams in term of technique and capacity for preparation for FIFA’s World Cup 2014 qualifying matches and the 26th SEA Games which held in November in Indonesia.
The match just start 10 minutes, Kouch Sokumpheak number 10 Cambodian football player come across player number 24 of Malaysia football team then immediately shoot the ball. At that time, goalkeeper too late to catch the ball which make Cambodian football team lead score in the half match.
The second half was so intense while Malaysia wanted to rush score equal. Unfortunately, rain came coming after a few second after the second half match. Even though the rain was heavy and heavy, but the audience still continue to watch the match to support the players and see the result of the match. Because of the heavy rain, it made the both side was hard to play.
At the 75 minute in second match, Cambodian football team number 4 Tieng Tiny leave the tournament because of red card. This time, Malaysia team had a high chance and more violent attack on Cambodian team, but there is no opportunity to get over.
As the result, Cambodia team got victory in the score of 1:0 to Malaysia team.
According to drawing for Asia’s first for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Cambodia will go to meet Lao in fist leg at National Stadium in Phnom Penh on June 29 and second leg in Vientiane on July 3.
Malaysia will go to met Chinese Taipei in first leg in Kuala Lumpur on 29 June and second leg in Taipei on 03 July. Cambodia football team was ranked the 176th among the 176th FIFA country members.
Base on drawing of second round qualified, Cambodia will go to meet China PR if Cambodia gets over Lao in round two. For Malaysia, it will go to meet Singapore if it wins Taipei in round two.
