During the opening ceremony, H.E. So Khun, Minister of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, said that beyond economic growth and job creation, mobile broadband has a positive effect on consumer surplus in terms of benefits to the end users having efficient access to information, savings in transport, benefits in health and entertainment.

“Mobile Broadband represents a unique once in a generation opportunity to drive social and economic development, and to help us accelerate progress towards meeting the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by 2015,” he added.

What is important is for all stakeholders to work together, within a framework that promotes facilitiesbased competition and with policies encouraging service providers to offer access on fair market terms. “Broadband, which is a platform for progress, details the infrastructure option for these networks and advocates the sharing of infrastructure, wherever possible,” he emphasized. “It also emphasizes that barriers restricting access to networks or services must be made as low as possible.” Huawei has developed mobile broadband (MBB) solutions for mainstream operators, which has increased their data revenue faster.

“Traditional network construction has strangled the profit potential of mobile broadband with high deployment costs and subsequently high tariffs.

To curtail costs, operators require enhanced spectrum efficiency, simplified network architecture and smart operation of the mobile broadband network. Huawei MBB solutions aim to reduce operational costs for operators through an integrated network (GSM/UMTS/LTE), which can save a total cost of ownership (TCO) though maintenance,” said Mr. Zhen Sen, Sea Regional Vice President.

Huawei mobile broadband demo truck crew will be visiting some hotspots in Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and so on. Huawei MBB is a unique endto- end all-IP solution that will assist operators to increase their revenue, improve network bandwidth, and subsequently save costs.
